Finding Hope and Meaning – Part 21

I have been to several locations seeking to capture pictures of birds with varying degrees of success. Some have required several hours in the car and an overnight stay. Others have been close to my home in New York’s Capital District. This Fall Day I stopped at a park close to home, Central Park in Schenectady. It is a park I visit frequently. This day I was at the right time to witness several Canadian Geese taking off from Iroquois Lake in the park.

I have found in my faith as in my photography that persistence pays off. God’s answers to our prayers often don’t come instantly. In the case of Abraham God’s promise of descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky who would be a blessing to all the nations of the earth, it would 42 generation later that Jesus the Messiah would be born be the ultimate fulfillment of God’s promise to Abraham.

Sometimes our role in God’s plan is to plant a seed, for another to water it, and a yet another to be blessed to witness the harvest of our efforts.
