Batchellerville Bridge

The Batchellerville Bridge caries Route 98 across the Great Sacandaga Lake at its mid-point. It provides a vital connection for the communities along its shores and affords a majestic view of the Adirondack Mountains for occupants of vehicles and pedestrians passing over it.

Local Faith Communities like this physical structure are also bridges. They provided a connection point for individuals with God and with one another. They help break down the barriers that separate us into communities that view one another with distrust and even hostility. They help us discover the value and beauty that our Creator has endowed each individual with. At their best they facilitate the realization of God’s plan as expressed by Jesus that we all be part of one body.

Today’s photo of the Great Sacandaga Lake and the Batchellerville Bridge as taken on April 15, 2024.

I have done more than 1,400 Daily Photo Devotions, most of which can be seen on this blog.
