Harbor

Today’s scenic image with sailboats safely at anchor reminds me of how the Church has often been referred to as a harbor.

A place where we can safety in the acceptance and support of brothers and sisters in Christ dedicated to sharing his love.

A place where we find guidance as we study and reflect on God’s Word as revealed through prophets and most fully in Jesus.

A place where we can know that one who created all that exists welcomes us, forgives our missteps, promises to walk with us through times of joy and sorrow, and proclaims that at the end of time here on earth there is a place for us in God’s home.

No matter who we are or how badly we feel we have messed up, there is a place for in God’s family.

Today’s photo was taken of Lake Champlain at Willsboro, NY in Summer of 2006. I have done more than 1,400 Daily Photo Devotions, most of which can be seen on this blog.
