Pinecones

This world of ours is such a diverse and marvelous place. Each and every part of it has a place in the ecological system of our planet. A place that provides for our basic needs and surrounds us with beauty.

Even the pinecone has a vital role in our planet’s ecology. When closed it protects the seeds for new trees from the cold, wind, and animals. When it opens it aids in the dispersal of seeds for new trees.

Our world is a wonderous complex set of systems that are a truly precious gift from a loving God entrusted to our care. We are on dangerous ground when we tamper with the diversity of our world.

Today’s photo was taken at Newtonville United Methodist Church on April 23, 2024. I have done more than 1,400 Daily Photo Devotions, most of which can be seen on my blog
